Kurt Cady is an Associate Principal in the Atlanta office, where he manages project design and coordination from concept through construction and serves as the primary contact for architects, contractors, and owners. He prides himself on delivering practical, efficient, and constructible solutions for large-scale complex projects. Understanding the whole building system and how the structure integrates across all systems and aesthetics is key to a well-delivered project. His primary experience is concrete and steel building design across a wide range of project sizes and sectors with expertise in both new construction and renovation/addition/retrofit, including historical structures.  He started his career with SDL from 2008 to 2011 and returned in 2015. While away from SDL he led multidisciplinary forensic engineering teams in cause-and-origin investigations, structural evaluation, and/or repair of existing structures subject to numerous types of peril. He holds Bachelor and Master of Civil Engineering degrees from Auburn University, where he was also part of the swimming team. Away from the office he enjoys coaching youth sports, perfecting his baking and BBQ, and playing golf.
