SDL was founded by Stanley D. Lindsey in 1966. The firm currently has a staff of over 50 employees, with registered engineers in 46 states (and the District of Columbia). Our offices are located in Atlanta, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee with service offices in Louisville, Kentucky and Orlando and Tampa, Florida. 

SDL embodies the philosophy that through knowledge we achieve the freedom to create. The firm believes that an extensive education is essential in understanding the economics of a structure and the intent of codes, and only through such understanding can an engineer begin to develop plans to bring the client’s vision to fruition.

But while many firms use this knowledge to complete a project, SDL uses educational training as a starting point for innovation. This unique philosophy has netted SDL some of the largest and most unique projects in the country, including medical facilities, sports arenas, convention centers, educational facilities, and historic renovations, as well as millions of square feet of commercial, institutional, retail, residential and industrial space.
